    SGC-7850   guard catalyst is a nickel catalyst that is extremely effective in adsorbing small amounts of  compounds remaining after upstream hydrodesulphurization processing. It is used in liquid phase applications as a guard bed for trace  removal upstream of either catalytic reformers or isomerization units. It allows refiners to take maximum advantage ofsensitive catalyst such as high rhenium reforming catalyst,plus acts as a guard against unexpected break-through to upstream units.
